J8 brings people together through browser-based video, audio, and text chat. Use it on desktop or mobile without installing a separate meeting app.

Create a password-protected room and share its link and password with your guests. Your separate private host link lets you assign speaker places. Viewers can watch, listen, and chat without enabling their camera or microphone.

Built with Django, PostgreSQL, and self-hosted LiveKit, J8 uses WebRTC for live communication and adaptive video delivery. Rooms are configured for up to 24 participants and eight assigned speakers, with a 240p video target at up to 15 FPS. J8 remains in beta; actual performance depends on devices, networks, and available bandwidth.
